The turning drum conveyor, with its flexible turning function, can efficiently utilize site space and optimize production layout, making it a key equipment in logistics transportation and industrial production. To ensure that the equipment is adapted to actual needs and maximizes efficiency, the selection process should focus on the following core dimensions, accurately matching the working conditions and conveying requirements:

1、 Roller bearing parameters: matching material weight
Based on the total weight of the conveyed material, evenly distribute it to all the rollers in contact, calculate the load that a single roller needs to bear, and determine the wall thickness and shaft diameter specifications of the roller to avoid deformation and damage caused by insufficient load, which may affect the service life and conveying stability of the equipment.
2、 Roller length specification: Suitable for material width
The length of the drum should be adapted to the width of the conveyed material. The conventional selection follows the principle of “width of conveyed material+50mm”, which not only ensures smooth and non offset material transportation, but also avoids material waste and space occupation caused by excessively long drums; If the conveyed object has a special shape (such as long strips or irregular parts), the length of the drum needs to be adjusted according to the actual size.
3、 Roller installation method: in line with the overall design of the equipment
Based on the overall structure and installation requirements of the conveyor, select the corresponding drum installation form. Common types include spring press in type, internal tooth shaft type, full flat tenon type, through shaft pin hole type, etc; For the conical drum specifically designed for bending machines, it is necessary to determine the width and taper of the roller surface based on the size of the conveyed material (such as width and height) and the turning radius of the equipment to ensure smooth turning and conveying.
4、 Roller material and surface treatment: adapted to the usage environment
Select drum material and surface treatment process based on the characteristics of the conveying environment (such as humidity, corrosiveness, cleaning requirements):
a. Carbon steel galvanized drum can be used in ordinary dry environments;
b. Stainless steel rollers are preferred for environments that are humid, prone to corrosion, or require high hygiene standards such as food/medicine;
c. When enhancing friction (such as preventing material slippage) or reducing noise, a surface coated roller can be used;
d. In industrial heavy-duty and wear-resistant demand scenarios, carbon steel rollers treated with blackening can be considered.
Following the above selection dimensions, combined with the characteristics of the conveyed materials, the site environment, and the overall design requirements of the equipment, a highly adaptable and stable turning drum conveyor can be accurately selected to ensure efficient and reliable production and conveying processes.
