Selection Guide for PVC and PU Belt Conveyors

In belt conveyors, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and PU (polyurethane) are commonly used belt materials, and their performance and applicable scenarios differ significantly, as follows:

PVC belt: resistant to weak acids, weak alkalis, and water, with high hardness and poor elasticity, resistant to temperatures ranging from -10 ℃ to 80 ℃ (easily deformed at high temperatures), suitable for flat transportation of light bulk materials (grains, cardboard boxes, small packages), suitable for dry/slightly humid environments (warehouses, express sorting), low price, economical choice, but easily corroded by strong acids, strong alkalis, oils, and organic solvents.

PU belt: With good elasticity, it can be transported with high precision (climbing and turning), and its wear resistance is 5-10 times that of PVC. It has stronger environmental resistance and is suitable for high hygiene scenarios such as food and medicine (meat, baked goods, drugs), heavy load and high friction scenarios (automotive parts, metal parts), and environments with oil/moisture/chemical exposure (mechanical workshops, chemical plants). It is expensive but has a long service life, and has a better overall cost-effectiveness.
